"Due to attachment, anger, and foolishness, I have committed numberless mistakes in speech, deed and thought. I bow my head and repent. I vow from today to begin anew, to live day and night in mindfulness, and not to repeat my previous mistakes."

"So, yes, for the fucking love of God, movies matter. TV shows matter. Novels matter. They shape the lens through which you see the world. The very fact that you don’t think they matter, that even right now you’re still resisting the idea, is what makes all of this so dangerous to you — you watch movies so you can turn off your brain and let your guard down. But while your guard is down, you’re letting them jack directly into that part of your brain that creates your mythology. If you think about it, it’s an awesome responsibility on the part of the storyteller. And you’re comfortable handing that responsibility over to Michael Bay."

Why Feministing Matters, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Start Having Opinions

In 2004, the year I graduated college, I had the cliched personal crisis that everyone has when What do I want to do with my life? suddenly becomes a practical question, not a thought exercise. I knew I wanted to be a magazine writer. But I couldn’t afford to take an unpaid internship, and my…

Jewel By Lisa A/W 2013

The collection is so amazing, that I had to write about it. I stumbled across an article on (South Africa), that featured Nigerian born designer Lisa Folawiyo of Jewel By Lisa. It showcased her most recent collection and discussed the idea of cultural appropriation in the fashion industry. I am huge fan of Lisa Folawiyo creatively, her aesthetic is amazing. But I am also a big fan of her personally. No I do not know her, but it is always inspiring to see women doing what they love and succeeding at it. Her story is amazing, and I can’t wait to see what genius she has in store for her S/S collection.

Take a look at some of my favorites from the collection.

Mrs Carter World Tour Fashion Recap

If you know me or have an inkling of who i am or what I like, it is safe to say that you have probably heard me gush about my unceasing, perpetual and everlasting love for the Queen Bee of the Universe (Beyonce). In simple words I am what most call a Beyonce Stan. (Even though i’d like to think of myself as her long lost daughter) But this post isn’t about Beyonce fan lingo or DNA tests.

The Queen Bey (yes I will refer to her as that in this entire post get used to it) is on the European leg of her highly anticipated World Tour. Tours are great not just because you get to see your favorite performers belting out your favorite tunes live, but because the fashion is usually amazing and most celebs collaborate with top designers to serve you some high fashion realness all tour long, so lets countdown (Beyonce pun not intended) some of our favorite looks from Baddie Bey’s  Mrs Carter World Tour

"The Blonds" Body Suit

Only Baddie Bey can give you intentional nipple slip realness and still look bad. This outfit was one of the most buzzed about and we can definitely see why. The body suit was embroidered with 30,000 Swarovski Crystals and took 600 hours to apply. Check out the designers interview with Fashionista  I personally love this outfit and I love that Baddie Bey is living up to her moniker and showing off that “Bad” body.

Vrettos Vrettakos Catsuit

Halle Berry who? If Pitof Comar is ever looking to remake Catwoman, I think Beyonce would be purrrfect.

Emilio Pucci

Peter Dundas might just be a Beyonce Stan as well, the Emilio Pucci creative director created several looks for Mrs Carters tour and the three pictured above are definitely favorites. (Especially the leather shirtdress) You can check out the rest of Mr Dundas’s looks for Beyonce HERE

I cant wait to see what other explosive looks Baddie Bey has for us as her tour continues.
